Name of Authority: Gan Eng Seng Primary School Contract Period: From 26 Aug 2026 to 19 Nov 2027 Option to extend : a further period of 1 year
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., excluding lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, days with curtailed school hours (e.g. Teachers’ day and Children’s Day celebrations, etc), non-schooling days (e.g. PTC), scheduled school holidays and gazetted public holidays
Requirement: The Personnel should preferably have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- The Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification such as diploma, degree or post-graduate diploma in social work or related discipline such as counselling and psychology;
- One year of post-qualification full-time practice in a social work position in Singapore.
- Personnel shall have at least 1 year of pastoral care, mentoring and social work experience in similar programme with youths / students, including
- using different modes of engagement for the purpose of assessment, intervention and monitoring students
- case planning and goal setting with youths / students
- networking with other agencies and tap on community resources to provide intervention support to youths in schools.
- Personnel should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage students, parents, and school personnel effectively.
- Personnel should have the ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive cases with discretion and professionalism.
- Personnel should preferably be familiar with restorative practices and case management processes.
Job Scopes: The Services required are set out as follows:
- Student Engagement and Pastoral Care
- Engage students involved in disciplinary cases, including offenders and victims, to assist in ascertaining facts of the case and provide pastoral support and guidance.
- Build positive relationships with students, particularly those who are at-risk, to identify early warning signs of behavioural issues and surface these to the relevant school personnel.
- Support the implementation of safety plans for affected students, including monitoring student well-being following disciplinary incidents.
- Enable students to take ownership and exercise self-management through strengths-based approach.
- Restorative Work and Counselling Support
- Facilitate restorative conversations and processes between offenders and victims, where appropriate and when they are ready.
- Support the delivery of corrective counselling to help students understand the consequences of their actions and take responsibility for their behaviour.
- Work alongside with Case Management Team (CMT) and SDT members as well as relevant staff to provide follow-up support for students involved in disciplinary cases.
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Attend relevant meetings with the SDT and CMT and other school personnel to stay informed of students who require additional support.
- Collaborate with external agencies such as REACH teams and Social Service Agencies (SSAs), where required, to deliver targeted support for students with higher needs
