Contract Period: From 14 Sep 2026 (or date of issuance of Letter of Acceptance, whichever is later) to 31 Dec 2027, with option to extend for one (1) year.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 3:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break The candidate's standard working hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm, inclusive of a one-hour unpaid lunch break, amounting to 7 paid working hours per day.

In the event the school requires the candidate to work beyond the standard working hours, the additional time will be compensated through Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) rather than additional pay, subject to the candidate's prior acknowledgement and agreement.

  • Service not required during the June and December school holiday period, Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
  • The Personnel will be placed on unpaid leave for the period of the June and December school holiday period. No salary will be payable for this period as no service is rendered. Leave entitlements shall not accrue during the unpaid leave month.

Notwithstanding the above, the school may request the candidate's return during the last week of December for school preparation purposes. Any such arrangement will be mutually discussed and agreed upon with the candidate in advance, and the candidate will be compensated accordingly for the days of service rendered.

Requirements: The Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience: (a) Secondary, GCE ‘O’ or ‘A’ Levels certificate or its equivalent (b) Previous or related work experience in a primary school science room is preferred (c) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (d) Ability to multi-task (e) Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines (f) Ability to work as a team (g) Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and setting up (h) Pleasant personality with good interpersonal skill (i) Must possess character with respect to integrity and good work attitude

Job Scopes: The Services required are set out as follows: Main Role To provide operational and administrative support for the conducting of Science lessons and activities as the primary responsibility, while also extending logistical and administrative support to the English, Mother Tongue, Mathematics, Character and Citizenship Education, Co-Curricular Activities and Administration departments where required.

Working Relationships The Teaching Aide works primarily under the direction of the Head of Department (Science) [HOD(Science) in short] during school curriculum hours. Support rendered to the other departments will be coordinated in consultation with the HOD (Science).

Job Scope Teaching and Learning Resources The Teaching Aide will prepare resources for hands-on Science activities, Weighted Assessments, and Science competitions ahead of the scheduled lessons, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all sets. This includes cutting, laminating, and organising resources for ad-hoc activities. The Teaching Aide is also responsible for maintaining and organising resources in the Science Laboratory and MakerSpace, including the packing of resources in these spaces in preparation for school relocation.

Classroom and Lesson Support Prior to each Science lesson, the Teaching Aide will ensure that all resources and apparatus are set up in the respective venues and ready for immediate use. During lessons, the Teaching Aide will remain in the Science class to assist the Science teacher with the distribution and management of resources, monitor students' usage of apparatus, and render appropriate assistance to students where needed. The Teaching Aide is expected to work closely with the HOD (Science) and Science level representatives, communicating proactively on the management of Teaching and Learning resources.

Department Programmes & Events The Teaching Aide will support the logistics for Science activities and events held inside and outside the classroom. This includes the setup and dismantling of activity stations, displays, and event materials, as well as the appropriate organisation and storage of resources after each event. The Teaching Aide will also assist teacher-in-charges with resource management before, during, and after Science activities.

The Teaching Aide will also provide logistical and administrative support across other departments, including preparing, cutting, laminating, and organising instructional materials and manipulatives for lessons, events, and enrichment programmes. This includes setting up and packing down activity spaces, managing resources, and providing on-site support during departmental events and celebrations. The Teaching Aide will also assist with the daily maintenance of the school's food digestor for the Eco Makers Club Core-Curricular Activities (CCA).

Ad-hoc Support On an ad-hoc basis and subject to operational needs, the Teaching Aide may also be called upon to provide relief coverage at the library during recess and render general administrative support to the General Office, including manning the reception area and attending to phone calls and walk-in visitors.

Please note that the scope of work list spans multiple departments and requires the candidate to be adaptable, organised, and able to manage concurrent tasks across different timelines. The role involves regular physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and setting up equipment and materials. Candidates should be comfortable working in a school environment and interacting with students and staff.
