The research group of Prof. Karina Yaniv at the Helmholtz-Institut für Translational AngioCardioScience (HI-TAC) is looking for a motivated and team-oriented Bioinformatician (m/f/d) to strengthen its growing interdisciplinary research team. As a newly founded laboratory, we offer you the special opportunity to actively help shape an ambitious research program from the very beginning. In a dynamic, international environment, bioinformaticians and experimental researchers work closely together to investigate central questions of vascular biology and develop new therapeutic approaches. The focus of our research is on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of blood and lymphatic vessel development, tissue regeneration, and vascular diseases. To this end, we combine state-of-the-art methods such as single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, epigenomics, imaging, functional genetics, and computational biology. As a Bioinformatician (m/f/d), you will work closely with experimental researchers and accompany projects from study planning through data processing and statistical analysis to biological interpretation. With high-quality and reproducible analyses, you will make an important contribution to new biological insights and joint research projects.

• Development and maintenance of reproducible analysis workflows for bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomic data
• Analysis and integration of complex multi-omics datasets, particularly transcriptomic and epigenomic data
• Performance of statistical analyses, data visualizations, and biological interpretations of high-dimensional data
• Close collaboration with experimental researchers on study design, data analysis, and interpretation
• Application and further development of modern bioinformatic methods for single-cell and spatial omics data
• Participation in scientific publications, conference contributions, and joint funding applications
• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computational Genomics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a comparable quantitative field; alternatively, a Master's degree with relevant professional experience
• Very good programming skills in Python and R; experience with Bash scripts is an advantage
• Sound experience in the analysis of Next-Generation-Sequencing data, especially single-cell RNA sequencing; knowledge of spatial transcriptomics, multi-omics, or epigenomics is desirable
• Very good knowledge of statistical methods for analyzing biological data; experience with Machine Learning is a plus
• High quality awareness and experience with reproducible, well-documented analysis workflows
• Very good English skills in speaking and writing, as English is the working language in the laboratory
• A team-oriented, curious, and proactive way of working, as well as enjoyment of independent and interdisciplinary work
