About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Site Manager to oversee the installation, implementation, and commissioning of specialist water treatment systems for hyperscale data centre builds across Northern and Central Europe.

Working on a 10/4 rotational pattern (10 consecutive days on site followed by 4 days off), you will lead on-site execution across major hyperscale projects in Helsinki, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam . You will be responsible for translating specialist water system designs into operational reality by directing, coordinating, and supervising sub-contractors and site engineering teams.

Due to the rotational nature of the work and frequent international travel across EU project locations, holding an EU Passport is an essential requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Site Management & Implementation

• Oversee the end-to-end site installation and commissioning of specialist water treatment plants, complex pipework, instrumentation, electrical control panels, and automation systems across hyperscale data centre builds.
• Directly manage and supervise M&E sub-contractors, ensuring works adhere strictly to project specifications, design intent, and delivery schedules.
• Drive the commissioning and testing phases of mechanical and electrical systems to guarantee operational performance and compliance.

Stakeholder & Contractor Leadership

• Act as the primary technical point of contact on-site, liaising with project managers, main contractors, sub-contractors, and hyperscale client representatives to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Lead and mentor on-site mechanical and electrical teams, fostering a collaborative, productive, and safety-focused work environment.
• Maintain regular communication with the Senior Project Manager, reporting on site progress, schedule adherence, and operational risks.

Quality, Safety & Risk Management

• Hold full responsibility for all site Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment (HSQE) standards, including the preparation and enforcement of RAMS, site inductions, toolbox talks, and safe plans of action.
• Conduct regular quality assurance inspections to verify that all installations meet required technical standards, local regulations, and project specifications.
• Identify operational risks and site bottlenecks early, proactively implementing mitigation strategies to avoid project delays.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive site records, including installation logs, inspection sheets, commissioning documentation, and progress reports.
• Compile and deliver monthly project progress reports.

Key Competencies & Qualifications

• EU Passport Holder: Valid EU passport is mandatory to support seamless, unrestricted travel and right-to-work requirements across Finland, Germany, and the Netherlands.
• Rotational Availability: Ability and willingness to work a 10/4 site rotation (10 days on site, 4 days off with travel home).
• Technical Experience: Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Water Engineering background with strong experience in site management or site supervision on complex M&E/industrial infrastructure projects.
• Data Centre Sector Knowledge: Previous experience delivering M&E systems within hyperscale data centres or critical engineering environments is highly advantageous.
• Drawing Literacy: Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, including General Arrangements, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
• Leadership & Drive: Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary site teams and sub-contractors while making key decisions under tight schedules.
• Education & Credentials: Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering; full valid driving licence.
