Group Financial Controller

Our client, a specialist organisation is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join its finance team in Poole, Dorset. This permanent role will play a central part in supporting the business as it operates as a standalone entity, with responsibility for group financial reporting, treasury, taxation, governance and financial controls. Key Responsibilities: Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual group financial statements Oversee the consolidation of global financial results, including intercompany eliminations Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, including IFRS and GAAP Develop and maintain effective financial controls, governance frameworks and risk management processes Manage external audits and relationships with auditors, advisers, regulators and financial institutions Oversee global cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, debt facilities and working capital Lead foreign exchange risk management, hedging strategies, taxation compliance and transfer pricing activities Drive improvements across financial systems, ERP platforms, reporting processes and automation Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Lead, mentor and develop a global finance team Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insight and strategic guidance Support acquisition integration, restructuring and the development of scalable finance processes Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the group Identify and mitigate financial, treasury and tax risks across the organisation Job Requirements: Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA or an equivalent qualification Strong experience in group financial reporting, consolidation and financial controls Expertise in treasury management, taxation, cash flow and working capital management In-depth understanding of accounting standards and corporate governance requirements Experience leading and developing finance teams Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities Commercial acumen, strategic thinking and a high level of attention to detail Desirable Experience: Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, integration or business restructuring Knowledge of major ERP systems, such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics Understanding of financial and regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions If you are a technically strong finance professional seeking an influential Group Financial Controller role within the maritime sector, apply now to join our client's evolving organisation in Poole.
