Cost Accountant - Construction

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, preferably within the construction or contracting industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting, project costing, and cost control.
• Proficiency in analyzing project costs, expenses, and variances.
• Experience in preparing cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and conducting financial analyses.
• Ability to monitor actual costs against budgets and identify deviations.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure while adhering to deadlines.

• Prepare and oversee project cost sheets and reports.
• Track direct and indirect project costs.
• Analyze cost variances and provide actionable recommendations to management.
• Monitor project budgets and actual expenditures.
• Collaborate with teams from Projects, Procurement, Contracts, Stores, and Finance to ensure accurate cost allocation.
• Review costs related to materials, labor, subcontractors, and other project components.
• Support management initiatives designed to improve cost efficiency and optimize project profitability.
