Property Loss Adjuster - Field Based

The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Loss Adjuster to join a growing property claims operation covering Scotland.

This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of domestic and commercial property claims, taking ownership of cases from initial notification through to resolution and settlement. You will combine strong technical knowledge with a customer-focused approach, investigating losses, assessing damage and providing fair, well-informed recommendations.

Working autonomously as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will build strong relationships with policyholders, brokers, clients and suppliers, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, professionally and with empathy.

• Manage a varied caseload of domestic and commercial property claims of differing complexity and value.
• Conduct site visits, investigations and assessments to establish the cause, extent and validity of losses.
• Manage claims throughout the entire lifecycle, from first notification through to settlement.
• Interpret policy wordings, assess coverage and validate claims accurately and fairly.
• Maintain regular communication with policyholders, clients and other stakeholders, providing clear updates throughout the claims process.
• Prepare detailed, high-quality reports and recommendations in line with client requirements and service standards.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and repair networks to ensure effective claims resolution and positive customer outcomes.
• Identify potential fraud, recovery opportunities and areas requiring further investigation, escalating where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive and audit-ready claims records.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to service improvements and wider business development opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team objectives and consistently high standards of service delivery.

We are looking for an experienced property claims professional with the technical ability, commercial awareness and communication skills to manage a diverse caseload independently.

You will ideally have

• Significant experience handling domestic and commercial property claims.
• Strong technical knowledge of property loss adjusting, claims investigation and policy interpretation.
• Progress towards, or completion of, a recognised industry qualification at Diploma level or above.
• Excellent investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and professionally with customers experiencing property losses.
• The ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively while managing competing demands.
• A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, compliant claims handling.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach, with the confidence to make informed decisions and work autonomously in a field-based role.
