Marine Technical Executive
The Technical Support Executive is responsible for providing technical assistance and operational support to customers, dealers, service engineers, and internal teams. The role supports troubleshooting activities, maintains technical documentation, assists with equipment testing and repairs, and ensures timely communication of technical information and service updates.
The Technical Support Executive helps ensure service quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company procedures and quality and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support to customers, dealers, Service Engineers, and internal teams.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and system issues, escalating complex matters to the Technical Team Leader or Technical Manager when required.
- Support technical inquiries related to products, services, maintenance, and repairs.
- Assist with onboard vessel attendance, site visits, equipment inspections, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
Technical Documentation & Communication
- Maintain and update technical records, service bulletins, manuals, and work instructions.
- Distribute technical updates and manufacturer service bulletins to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare technical reports, service documentation, and maintenance records.
- Ensure technical information is accurately documented and filed.
Workshop & Equipment Support
- Assist with inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of defective equipment and spare parts.
- Support the maintenance and calibration control of test equipment.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
Customer & Dealer Support
- Respond to technical inquiries from customers and dealers promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with Service Coordinators and Service Engineers to support service delivery.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to the Technical Team Leader or Technical Manager.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Comply with company policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO45001:2018 requirements.
- Follow safe work practices and participate in safety initiatives and training.
- Report quality, technical, and safety concerns promptly.
OtherDuties
- Perform ad hoc duties and projects assigned by Management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Higher NITEC in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in technical support, marine electronics, communications, navigation systems, or related fields.
- Experience in the marine or offshore industry is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of marine communication, navigation, connectivity, or electronic systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO45001:2018 requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
