Import and Export Assistant Manager
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in similar positions in foreign trade or international logistics.
- Solid experience in imports, preferably from Asia.
- Desirable experience in sectors such as textiles or footwear.
Technical Knowledge
- Customs regulations and foreign trade rules (updated 2026).
- Tariff classification / Handling of VUCEM.
- International logistics and supply chain management.
- SAP (intermediate-advanced level) / Advanced Excel.
Languages
- Conversational English (interaction with international suppliers) INTERMEDIATE | ADVANCED
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Import and Export Management
- Guarantee the correct execution of foreign trade operations, mainly imports from USA, EUROPE, ASIA, etc.
- Ensure compliance with delivery times according to operational plans.
- Supervise the complete shipment flow: origin, transit, clearance, and delivery.
- Anticipate operational risks and deviations.
Regulatory Compliance (Customs)
- Ensure compliance with current customs regulations (2026) and foreign trade rules.
- Validate the correct tariff classification of goods.
- Manage documentation and processes in VUCEM (e-document, electronic value vouchers, manifests, etc.).
- Maintain an effective relationship with authorities and customs agents.
Logistics Provider Management
- Negotiate and manage contracts with forwarders, shipping lines, carriers, escorts, and insurers.
- Evaluate provider performance and develop long-term relationships.
- Ensure adequate service levels in cost, time, and quality.
- Coordinate routes and logistics strategies to optimize time and costs.
- Monitor the transport of goods and anticipate risks or deviations.
- Participate in logistics planning aligned with demand and production.
Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Implement improvement initiatives based on KPIs.
