Management Accountant
Location: Milton Keynes Salary: £40,000
The company, a successful manufacturing business and a recent acquisition by a privately owned 11,000-employee global organisation, is entering a major growth phase following significant investment. Due to continued expansion and the introduction of new systems, processes and reporting requirements, the business is now seeking a Management Accountant to strengthen its finance function and support ongoing operational and commercial growth.
Person and Role
Are you a proactive and ambitious finance professional looking to develop your career within a growing manufacturing organisation? We’re looking for a Management Accountant who can support accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls and provide valuable insight to operational teams.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in producing management accounts, analysing performance, supporting cash and stock management, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information across the business. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to all aspects of the finance function, including management accounting, purchase ledger, credit control, fixed assets, inventory, cash management and audit.

What You’ll Be Doing
Management Accounting & Reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Provide financial insight to operational teams to support decision-making.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across finance systems, controls and processes.
Financial Transactions & Controls
- Process and maintain accurate financial transactions, including posting purchase invoices.
- Assist with credit control and supplier account management.
- Support cash management, banking activities and cash flow reporting.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
- Support external audits and year-end reporting requirements.
Stock, Inventory & Margin Analysis
- Support stock accounting and inventory reconciliations.
- Assist with margin analysis and investigation of variances.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate stock and cost information.
Essential Skills & Experience
- AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
- Previous experience within a finance or accounting role.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to support all areas of finance.
Desirable
- Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
- Good working knowledge of Sage 200 and/or SAP .
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or stock-based environments.
Experience
- Experience supporting management accounts and financial reporting.
- Practical experience with journals, reconciliations and transactional finance.
- Exposure to stock, inventory or margin analysis beneficial.
- Experience working with operational teams to provide financial insight.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday — 08:00 to 16:30 (Flexible)
General Responsibilities
This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional accounts role and gain exposure to every aspect of finance within a successful manufacturing business. You will work directly with senior management, develop a broad commercial understanding of the business and play an active role in supporting future growth and improvement initiatives. This role will report to the Financial Controller.
