Knitwear Collection Development Manager (M/F)

Context

We are looking for a senior profile to support the Artistic Direction in the development of collections for the Marseillaise Ma Petite Capsule brand.

Currently, the brand works with a freelance stylist present three days a week. This collaboration is intended to continue. However, during collection periods, we need a profile capable of strengthening the team, managing collection development, and, if necessary, producing technical sheets themselves to absorb peaks in activity.

The sought-after profile

We are looking for a senior profile capable of being the right hand to the Artistic Direction, with a dual competence: an architectural vision of the collection and operational mastery of its development, from creation to industrialization.

It is essential that this person has worked for several years as a stylist before evolving into a collection development role. They must be able to understand a creative intention, translate it into a product, create or correct a technical sheet, and communicate directly with manufacturers.

Missions

• Participate in the construction of collections with the Artistic Direction.
• Build and balance collection plans.
• Be proactive regarding products, volumes, product families, and silhouettes.
• Coordinate collection development.
• Supervise the freelance stylist and distribute the workload.
• Create, correct, and validate technical sheets.
• Produce technical sheets during periods of high activity.
• Act as the technical interlocutor for manufacturers.
• Follow prototypes, comments, modifications, and validations.
• Manage retro-planning and anticipate delays.
• Participate in end-of-collection operations: entering product information, integrating prices, creating labels, and preparing data necessary for SMS (Sales Meeting Samples) and marketing tools.
• Guarantee compliance with deadlines and the quality of product development.

Essential skills

• Excellent ability to build and balance a collection plan with a true architectural vision of the product offering.
• Ability to analyze a collection as a whole: balance between product families, price levels, volumes, silhouettes, statement pieces, basics, and image products.
• Ability to identify gaps, duplicates, and opportunities in order to build a coherent, commercial, and profitable collection.
• Former stylist with excellent product culture.
• Strong expertise in knitwear.
• Excellent technical mastery of knitwear (gauges, stitches, constructions, assembly, finishes, yarns, and manufacturing constraints).
• Mastery of product development, from idea to final prototype.
• Ability to create, correct, and supervise technical sheets.
• Ability to communicate directly with manufacturers and resolve technical issues.
• Professional English is essential.
• Sense of organization, autonomy, rigor, and anticipation.
