Your tasks

Ensure proper washing of associate personal clothing. Sort the associates’ bed linens before sending to LMAA laundry and maintain a record. Assist in any tasks needed in the accommodation.

Specific duties The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

• Proper sorting or segregation of associates’ personal clothing before washing to avoid color stains.
• Wash, fold, and arrange clean clothing of associates in their respective laundry bag or basket.
• Send associates’ soiled bed linen to Le Meridien Al Aqah (LMAA) laundry and keep a record before releasing.
• Once the bed linens are received from LMAA laundry, arrange the bed linens on the shelves according to associates’ laundry number.
• Clean all laundry machines after use and if any damage, inform the Accommodation and HR Coordinator.
• Wash DDCR associates’ personal clothing and count them properly for billing purposes.
• Maintain associates’ washing records.
• Use correct chemicals.
• Maintain cleanliness in the laundry area.

Other functions

• Issue and record the following:
• Use of vacuum cleaner borrowed by the associates and ensure it is not damaged after return.
• Associates’ requests for bed linen replacement, toilet rolls, bedside lamps, brooms, etc., once the Accommodation and HR Coordinator has approved the release.
• Assist the Accommodation and HR Coordinator in making a room ready for occupancy, i.e., furniture shifting, cleaning of the room, and changing the bed linen.
• Assist the Accommodation and HR Coordinator in shifting the vending machine items.
• During the absence of the staff accommodation cleaner:
• Broom and mop the accommodation corridors and common areas including gym.
• Fix the shower head and bidet in the accommodation rooms.
• Clear the garbage bins in the accommodation areas.
• Assist in preparing the buffet set-up at the dune dinner site for the meals of associates on duty and guests’ drivers during dune site events.
• Work with staff accommodation cleaner in disinfecting the rooms of positive COVID associates and quarantine room.
• Assist the staff accommodation cleaner in cleaning, removing the soiled linen at the quarantine room, and prepare the bed for the next associate to use.
• Take turns with staff accommodation cleaner in collecting food from the cafeteria for quarantined associates.
• Assist the staff accommodation cleaner in cleaning and setting up the room for the incoming visitor at the Management accommodation.
• Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the supervisor or senior leaders.

Requirements

Candidate profile Experience: Previous experience working in the laundry.

Skills and knowledge

• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Able to get on well with people of different backgrounds.
• Pro-active and reliable.
• Able to work alone and within a team.
• Has knowledge of laundry chemicals and fabrics.
