Research & Design Technician

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an R&D Technician on behalf of our client based in Braintree on a Permanent basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and modify engineering prototypes and development assemblies.
• Create, maintain and update manufacturing work instructions and technical documentation.
• Train production operatives in new and revised manufacturing processes.
• Read and make basic modifications to engineering drawings and documentation through the DCN process.
• Set up and conduct development testing, accurately recording results and engineering data.
• Build and modify test rigs, fixtures and other equipment to support development activities.
• Investigate and resolve practical manufacturing, assembly and production issues.
• Participate in design reviews, providing practical manufacturing and assembly input.
• Maintain accurate prototype build, test and engineering records.
• Carry out hands-on engineering activities within workshop and laboratory environments.
• Follow risk assessments, safe systems of work and relevant safety procedures.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Established experience working in a practical engineering environment.
• Experience assembling and modifying engineering prototypes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and produce clear technical documentation.
• Knowledge of practical manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Experience conducting tests, recording results and maintaining engineering data.
• Ability to investigate and resolve practical engineering problems.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, methodical and safety-conscious approach to work.

Hours - 8am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday Salary - £30,000 - 34,000 (DOE) Job Type - Permanent
