*Job Summary* We are seeking a skilled and *experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic* to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery equipment at our worksites and shop. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, hands-on experience with various tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and reliably, supporting our operational needs across multiple site.

*Responsibilities*

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment such as excavators and backhoes.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Conduct welding, assembly, and replacement of parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all repair procedures.
• Develop and maintain the preventative maintenance program for the fleet.

*Skills & Requirements*

• 10+ years experience, with a focus on excavators.
• Completed Red Seal, or working towards.
• Hands-on experience with welding, assembly, and use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and vendors regarding equipment repairs and/or maintenance needs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pivot as business needs change.
