Trade Accountant

At Manuchar, accounting is anything but a routine job. As a Trade Accountant, you will be part of our Finance team at the headquarters in Antwerp and play an important role in supporting our international trading activities, with transactions in, among others, Brazil, China, and numerous other countries.

No two days are the same. You will work with different currencies, international bank accounts, complex cash allocations, and large transaction volumes. At the same time, you will be in close contact with colleagues all over the world to ensure our international business continues to run smoothly. • You accurately process supplier invoices, bank statements, and cash allocations within the set deadlines for various international entities.
• You prepare supplier payments, execute them, and follow up on them. In doing so, you ensure a correct reconciliation of the Accounts Payable sub-ledger.
• You match incoming and outgoing payments to the correct suppliers and customer invoices, taking different currencies and international bank accounts into account.
• You investigate discrepancies, solve complex accounting issues, and ensure correct and timely follow-up with both internal and external stakeholders.
• You guarantee qualitative processing of transactions in a high-volume environment and always work according to Belgian accounting rules (Belgian GAAP), VAT regulations, and our internal controls.
• You work closely with colleagues from Treasury, Accounting, and our commercial teams to optimally support our global finance operations.
• You actively think along about how we can simplify, standardize, and automate our accounting processes, and contribute to initiatives regarding continuous improvement.
• You support the further optimization and automation of our Accounts Payable processes.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Toegepaste Economische Wetenschappen (TEW), Handelswetenschappen, or another relevant economic field.
• You are a recent graduate or have initial professional experience within accounting or finance. Candidates with more experience are also very welcome.
• You are curious by nature and have a strong interest in accounting and international finance.
• You work accurately and easily maintain an overview, even when various priorities converge.
• You have an analytical mindset, are eager to learn, and do not shy away from complex challenges.
• You are a hands-on team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues from different departments and cultures.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus, but certainly not a requirement.
• You communicate fluently in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
