Senior Maintenance Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE

Lead the MARC Daily Operations team to exceed contractual commitments and ensure adherence is kept with maintenance plans driven by the Planning team. Provide training, leadership, motivation, and encouragement to subordinates to ensure a good work ethic and morale. Lead a strong Health, safety, and environmental culture that ensures a zero harm within the technical team.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include are not limited to the following:

• Ensure on-site equipment is monitored, repaired, and serviced in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner (strive for 80% of downtime to be planned).
• Manage, drive, and ensure cooperation among various maintenance teams– PM, Field, Workshop, Electrical, and Welding
• Assign Expatriates to various operational areas, specifically to drive improvements in efficiency, supervision, and quality through training and guidance
• Ensure Health and Safety is considered a priority within MARC Operations.
• Ensure company safety procedures and safe working practices are strictly followed, to reduce injuries or accidents below industry standards.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and assist where required in rectifying safety-related issues.
• Strive for 100% compliance with Mantrac Quality System.
• Initiate Actions that Continuously Improve the Planning Process for the fleet.
• Encourage Input from the workgroups, which leads to continuous improvement.
• Ensure there is adequate supervision coverage for all operational staff.
• Provide data analysis and measurement of outcomes, document and report the results and accomplishments of quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor down machine status and report to the Project Manager on expected uptime.
• Ensure that Supervisors carry out quality checks on all repairs before machine release.
• Assist with troubleshooting when Supervisors have problems and liaise with the Remote Troubleshooters for support.
• Ensure warranty is claimed for all failed parts that are within coverage.
• Ensure the daily downtime report is accurate before it is presented to the Project Manager.
• Where the need arises, carry out tasks assigned by the Project Manager to meet the needs of the business.

EDUCATION

• BSc/BTech/HND Engineering, or related qualification.
• Ghana Minerals Commission's Certificate of Competency (Inspection Engineer).
• Candidate must be a member of a relevant professional body (desirable)

REQUIREMENT

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy-duty earthmoving, mining, and construction machinery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent technical skills and good time management skills
• Good IT skills
• Must be able to work in a noisy and dusty environment
• Should be able to work longer hours, including weekends and holidays.
