Dispatch Operative with Counterbalance FLT Pay Rate: £14.45 per hour Contract: Temporary ongoing with a view to permanent employment Location: Shotts, North Lanarkshire Start Date: Immediate starts available

Manpower Scotland is currently recruiting for a Dispatch Operative with a valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence on behalf of one of our established food production clients.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy dispatch operation where you will play a key role in ensuring products are accurately checked, processed and prepared for distribution. The successful candidate will be responsible for stock movements, dispatch administration and forklift operations within a fast-paced food production environment.

Working Pattern

• Wednesday to Saturday
• Weekly ongoing work
• Overtime available
• 1.5x pay after 40 hours worked
• Double time on Sundays

The Role

Working within the Despatch Department, you will be responsible for ensuring finished products are accurately processed and prepared for delivery, maintaining stock accuracy and supporting the smooth operation of warehouse and logistics activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
• Loading and unloading vehicles in accordance with dispatch schedules
• Moving stock between production, storage and dispatch areas
• Picking, preparing and staging goods for distribution
• Carrying out incoming and outgoing stock checks
• Using PDA handheld scanners to record stock movements and update inventory records
• Verifying quantities, product codes and batch information
• Completing dispatch paperwork and electronic records accurately
• Ensuring all products are correctly labelled and prepared for transport
• Monitoring stock levels and reporting discrepancies
• Assisting with warehouse organisation and stock rotation
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse and dispatch areas
• Following all health and safety and food production procedures at all times
• Supporting colleagues across warehouse and distribution operations as required

Requirements

• Valid and in-date Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (essential)
• Previous experience working within a warehouse, logistics or dispatch environment
• Confident using PDA scanners and warehouse management systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good numerical skills and experience carrying out stock checks
• Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
• Previous experience within a food production environment would be advantageous but is not essential
