Die Maintenance Technician
About the company
We are currently recruiting for a Die Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturing business in Carrickfergus. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a mechanical maintenance, tooling, toolroom, or fitting background to secure a well-paid position with excellent shift premiums and long-term career prospects.
Your tasks
- Service, strip, inspect and rebuild die-casting tools
- Diagnose and repair tooling faults and production breakdowns
- Carry out die modifications and component replacements
- Perform TIG and stick welding repairs
- Work from engineering drawings to fine tolerances
- Complete maintenance records and inspection documentation
- Support manufacturing operations and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain high standards of health and safety
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance
- Experience in mechanical maintenance, tooling, toolroom, fitting, or die maintenance
- TIG and/or stick welding experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Willingness to work shift patterns
