Senior Application Developer (Django Python) Banking /Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python Django.
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performance REST APIs and backend services.
• Develop and implement complex business logic, including risk calculations, workflow automation, dashboards, and data quality controls.
• Create and maintain responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and UX teams to deliver intuitive user experiences.
• Ensure application performance, cross-browser compatibility, and scalability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to product enhancements and technical improvements.
• Maintain software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, security, performance monitoring, and documentation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, release management, and production deployments.
• Provide Level 3 production support and troubleshoot critical application issues within agreed service levels.
• Contribute to system optimization, security compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Around 5-10+ years of software development experience
• Hands-on experience with Python Django Framework.
• Proven experience working with MariaDB/MySQL in high-volume transaction environments.
• Good understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern web development practices.
• Experience working in Linux environments and using Git for version control.
• Familiarity with web servers such as NGINX or Apache.
• Exposure to JavaScript frameworks and frontend development technologies.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing, and release management.
• Exposure to Java, Angular, React, and cloud-based platforms.
• Awareness of application security practices, including authentication, encryption, and fraud prevention.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
