Registered Apprenticeship certificate.

Work setting:

On-site customer service. Commercial.

Tasks:

  • Install coals and wood heating systems .
  • Repair coals and wood heating systems .
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, and their components and controls.
  • Lay out oil burner heating system components and assemble components using hand and power tools.
  • Test installed unit and adjust controls for proper functioning.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service.
  • Install oil burner components and connect to fuel supply, ventilation and electrical system.
  • Instruct apprentices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :

  • Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Trade Certification.
  • Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Red Seal Certificate.
