Education:
Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
Work setting:
On-site customer service. Commercial.
Tasks:
- Install coals and wood heating systems .
- Repair coals and wood heating systems .
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, and their components and controls.
- Lay out oil burner heating system components and assemble components using hand and power tools.
- Test installed unit and adjust controls for proper functioning.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and service.
- Install oil burner components and connect to fuel supply, ventilation and electrical system.
- Instruct apprentices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :
- Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Trade Certification.
- Oil Burner Mechanic (Residential) Red Seal Certificate.
