Special Education Teacher

Role Description The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized and small-group instruction to learners with a range of disabilities, using evidence-based strategies and differentiated teaching methods. This full-time, on-site role is based in Lekki and involves designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum materials, and monitoring student progress. The teacher will collaborate with families, therapists, and other staff to develop holistic support plans and participate in multidisciplinary meetings. Daily responsibilities include classroom management, documentation and reporting, maintaining accurate records, and creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment. The Special Education Teacher will also contribute to school initiatives, professional development activities, and ongoing improvement of special education programs. Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Special Education and experience working with learners with Disabilities. Demonstrated Teaching experience, ideally at the Middle School level or comparable age group. Excellent Communication skills for working with learners, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to design and implement individualized education plans and use differentiated instructional strategies. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education and learner-centered practice. Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; relevant certifications or licenses are an advantage. Experience with classroom management, progress monitoring, and educational documentation. Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training in special education practices.
