housekeeping manager

Education:

College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience.

Work site environment:

Non-smoking.

Work setting:

50 - 100 beds. Motel. Hotel, motel, resort.

Tasks:

• Establish operational procedures.
• Select and purchase equipment and supplies.
• Plan and co-ordinate activities of housekeeping supervisors and crews.
• Co-ordinate inspection of assigned areas.
• Supervise staff.
• Co-ordinate contract services.
• Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met.
• Supervise maintenance and repair services.
• Co-ordinate maintenance and repair services.
• Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment and uniforms.
• Supervise in-house laundry services.
• Co-ordinate in-house laundry services.
• Schedule and assign duties of housekeeping staff.
• Ensure that local health and sanitation regulations are carried out.
• Hire and dismiss staff.
• Respond to complaints of guests.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Conduct performance reviews.
• Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.

Supervision:

5-10 people.

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :

• Certified Hospitality Housekeeping Executive.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.

Transportation/travel information:

Own vehicle. Public transportation is available.
