fruit farm labourer

Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience.

Work site environment:

Fruit and vegetable combination farming. Other vegetables and melon farming (except potato). Outdoors. Wet/damp. Odours. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Cold/refrigerated.

Work setting:

Rural area.

Tasks:

• Apply the technique of hoeing between the row.
• Clean the crops.
• Clear fields of wood and stones.
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market..
• Hand harvesting vegetables.
• Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops.
• Tie and secure plants.
• Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
• Weeding.
• Write daily basic progress reports.
• Harvest crops.

Type of crops:

• Apples.
• Cherries.
• Orchard fruit.
• Strawberries.
• Tomatoes.

Transportation/travel information:

Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Public transportation is not available.
