The Customs & Export Control department (FSZ) is responsible for the proper processing of all processes relevant to foreign trade. This means that the department must enable modern and logistically efficient import/export processing using various official permits and simplifications. Furthermore, the department ensures that legal specifications and requirements in foreign trade are taken into account and that opportunities through the use of free trade agreements are utilized.
- Overall responsible management and assurance of the export control law classification of physical goods (truck, bus, components) as well as (vehicle) software and technology along the product development process, applying the relevant regulations (Export List, Dual-Use-VO, Statistical Commodity Nomenclature, Embargo Regulations, EU Customs Code)
- Definition, implementation, and continuous further development of company-wide standards, guidelines, and processes for goods classification and tariff classification
- Technical responsibility for the correct and audit-proof mapping of export control data, especially classification and tariff data, in IT systems (e.g., SAP, MIC)
- Management and quality assurance of the assessment of new development projects for physical goods, technology, and software, as well as ensuring the consistent application of classification and export control specifications
- Central technical contact and sparring partner for specialist departments and management in all matters of goods classification and tariff classification with high decision-making authority
- Conception, management, and implementation of training and further education measures, including the development and application of standard templates for goods classification
- Active co-design and further development of export control, including identification and minimization of compliance risks beyond goods classification and tariff classification, e.g., checking business ventures in connection with applicable embargo regulations
- Successfully completed studies in the field of vehicle technology or comparable qualification, or completed vocational training with relevant several years of professional experience (at least 5 years) in the field of foreign trade / export control or vehicle technology
- Knowledge of export control law (e.g., Dual-Use, Embargos), customs tariff classification / classification is an advantage
- Technical understanding in the field of commercial vehicles and/or mechanical engineering as well as affinity for the topic of software development
- Experience in dealing with SAP systems, especially SAP GTS is an advantage
- Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented way of working as well as conceptual strength
- High degree of personal responsibility and decision-making strength, as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing regulatory requirements, tasks, and organizational frameworks and to actively help shape them
- Good English skills in speaking and writing, at least B1 level
- Flexible working hours through trust-based working hours
- Up to 80% remote and 20 days/year working from other EU countries
