MAN Truck & Bus has an international and industrially oriented real estate portfolio with around 650 owned and leased properties in more than 25 countries. The focus of the portfolio is in Europe, especially in Germany, with central production, sales, and administrative sites. In total, the portfolio comprises around 3.5 million square meters of area, a significant portion of which is used in proximity to value creation and production.

As Head of Corporate Real Estate Management (CREM), you will report directly to the Board and will be responsible for the establishment, strategic direction, and group-wide management of the Corporate Real Estate function at MAN. In this newly created role, you will develop a future-proof CREM organization, establish governance, processes, and standards, leverage synergies, and position Real Estate as a strategic value contribution to the core business.

Your tasks

- Establishment & implementation of the CREM function

- Establishment and implementation of a central, group-wide CREM function including governance, roles, standards, decision logic, and responsibilities

- Building and leading a high-performing internal CREM team as well as managing external service providers

- Development of a future-proof CREM Target Operating Model including interaction with Business Units, GBS, Purchasing, Finance, Legal, and HR

- Representation of the CREM function at the group level and positioning as a strategic business partner

- Active change management for the successful introduction of central CREM structures and standards

- Strategic real estate management

- Development and implementation of a global real estate strategy (existing stock, new construction, leasing, divestments) in coordination with the Board, management, and relevant specialist departments

- End-to-end responsibility for the international real estate portfolio throughout its entire life cycle

- Preparation, evaluation, and support of Board decisions regarding significant real estate investments

- Strategic demand steering as well as long-term site and space planning for major group locations in close coordination with the Business Units

- Profitability & Performance

- Ensuring the integration of the real estate strategy into the group's business and budget planning

- Coordination and management of cost, budget, and investment planning in the real estate area in close coordination with the responsible specialist departments

- Building complete transparency regarding space, costs, utilization, contracts, and investments

- Systematic identification and implementation of optimization and value enhancement potentials in the real estate portfolio

- Building and establishing a professional reporting and management system

Your qualifications

- Completed studies (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate)

- Many years of experience (15+ years) in Corporate Real Estate Management and relevant experience in leading teams, ideally in an international industrial or corporate environment

- Demonstrable experience in building or transforming organizations or functions

- Very good understanding of real estate economics, project development, contract models, and Facility Management

- Extensive experience working with top management / Board

- Entrepreneurial mindset, strong strategically, with the will to implement

- High motivation for design and change as well as the ability to successfully lead complex change processes

- Assertive, convincing, and confident in complex stakeholder landscapes

- Analytical, structured, and decisive

- International experience and business fluent English in speaking and writing (other foreign languages an advantage)
