Process Engineer | Production Support Engineer (m/f)

Do you want to have a direct influence on the functioning of production?

We are looking for a technically oriented person who enjoys finding solutions and will provide technical support for our precision manufacturing of measuring instruments.

The position is suitable for an experienced technician or engineer, but also for a person with several years of experience in mechanical engineering manufacturing who wants to move more into technical support, design, and process improvement.

What will be your job description:

• provide technical support to production regarding daily operational questions and problems
• receive technical requirements, coordinate their resolution, and follow them up until closure
• seek practical and efficient solutions to technical problems in manufacturing and assembly processes
• participate in the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes and in production relocation projects
• collaborate with production, quality, and development (R&D)
• prepare technical and drawing documentation for new products and fixtures
• design structural solutions in the Siemens NX CAD system
• test prototypes and evaluate results
• optimize design solutions with regard to quality, costs, and manufacturing technology
• participate in process improvement and the sharing of technical know-how between production sites
• train production workers during the introduction of new products and processes
• monitor new technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods and seek their practical application

Required knowledge and competencies:

• Secondary or Higher Education in a technical field – mechanical engineering, mechatronics, manufacturing technology, etc.
• or equivalent several years of experience in a technical manufacturing environment
• good technical thinking and the ability to understand connections
• ability to navigate technical documentation and drawings
• experience with a manufacturing or technical environment
• systematic approach and orientation towards finding solutions
• good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
• willingness to travel occasionally between production plants
• English or German at a level allowing communication in an international environment
• Advantage:
• experience with ERP systems and technical databases
• knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / KVP
