R&D Product/Process Specialist ( Powder / Polymer)

Job Summary: The R&D Engineer/Sr. Engineer is responsible for supporting powder crushing, mixing and compounding processes to ensure product quality, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. This role assists in improving product performance, production efficiency, and process stability by applying engineering knowledge and analytical methods. The R&D Engineer/Sr. Engineer works closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations, compliance with safety and quality standards, and timely execution of assigned engineering and R&D tasks. The R&D Engineer/Senior Engineer leads projects from initial lab concepts through pilot scale validation, delivering solid technical data that supports product performance and customer success. Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Process Development & Technical Support

•Assist in process development and optimization for powder crushing, mixing and compounding. •Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams. •Provide technical input and collaborate with engineers and production teams.

1. Production Support & Problem Solving

•Support troubleshooting for process and equipment issues under guidance of senior engineers. •Support troubleshooting and apply problem-solving tools (5-Why, Fishbone, DOE). •Monitor Powder & Mixing production processes to maintain stability.

1. Equipment & Technology Improvement

•Participation in equipment improvement, installation, and technology upgrades. •Support installation, commissioning, and evaluation of new machinery. •Research and suggest new technologies to enhance production capability.

1. Quality, Compliance & Project Execution

•Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety, and quality standards. •Support quality improvement initiatives and assist in handling non-conforming issues. •Contribute to APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and engineering change activities. •Support preparation and delivery of engineering samples and customer trials.

Qualifications: 1.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or science. 2.At least 2–3 years of engineering/R&D experience. 3.Technical expertise in metallurgy and materials science. Knowledge of powder processing (crushing, milling) for technical powders (metals, ceramics, etc.) or powder compounding. Deep understanding of rheology and binder performance would be an advantage Rare-earth magnetic materials background will be advantageous. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills English proficiency (speaking, writing). Quality & Standards: Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, ISO; focus on safety and compliance Research skills: Demonstrated hands on laboratory expertise with the ability to convert experimental findings into scalable, customer focused solutions. Problem-Solving: Ability to support process optimization and troubleshooting. Project & Documentation: Ability to prepare SOPs, technical reports, and project documentation. Communication & Tools: English proficiency; computer applications for manufacturing/quality control Collaboration: Teamwork across Production, Quality, and Maintenance Personal Attributes: Attention to detail, accountability, adaptability, continuous improvement mindset. Good physical health; able to work in industrial environments Willingness to travel for training when required.
