Teacher/Special Education Teacher in English and Religion
Magelungens gymnasium Södermalm is seeking a certified teacher in English and potentially Religion
Do you want to go the extra mile to make a difference for students? Do you feel that it would be a developing opportunity to work at a unique upper secondary school for students in need of extensive special support? Then we are the school for you.
Magelungens school operations is a staff-owned, mission-driven alternative focusing on students who have not found their place within the mainstream school system. Our ambition is to meet our students with high staff density and competence in special pedagogy. Teaching takes place in small groups in a cohesive environment. We want to create a good learning environment that is small enough to offer a personal atmosphere with peace for studying and personal interaction, yet large enough to be an arena for meetings and relationship building.
Magelungens gymnasium Södermalm consists of Samhällsvetenskapsprogrammet, Preparandutbildning and Individuellt Alternativ. The school caters to students with extensive needs for special support. The students we meet often have social, psychosocial, or neuropsychiatric concerns, and many times they have a long period of school absence behind them. To help these young people achieve a functioning school life, we work with small-scale settings, high staff density, as well as reinforced student social support based on each student's individual circumstances and needs.
Welcome to apply for a position with us! We are now seeking a certified teacher in English and potentially Religion for the Introduktionsprogrammet Individuellt Alternativ. You will primarily teach compulsory school courses to upper secondary students who need to complete compulsory school to become eligible for Nationellt program. The position is permanent, 60-100%, and the workplace is at Tjärhovsgatan 21.
We would like you to have the following personal qualities and experiences:
- Willingness to develop - we are both a learning and a growing organization.
- A warm interest in youths "outside the mainstream".
- A pronounced team player – to succeed, we must do it together. You will collaborate closely with student health personnel, teachers, and management.
- Equal parts seriousness, commitment, and humor.
- Ability to lift students both in terms of knowledge and towards better self-esteem.
- Meritorious with multiple subject combinations.
We want you to include a CV, personal letter, and references in your application. We only accept documents via email. Selection is ongoing, but the last application date is 2018-10-12.
