Job Title: Design Manager – Electrical Location: UAE

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager – Electrical to lead and manage the electrical design activities for high-voltage substation and power transmission projects. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary design teams, ensure compliance with client and utility requirements, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions within project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical design teams throughout all project phases.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of electrical design deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, utility standards, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project schedules, resources, and design progress to meet project milestones.
  • Review technical proposals, engineering studies, and vendor submissions.
  • Identify and mitigate design risks while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design engineers and project teams.
  • Support business development activities, bid preparation, and project planning when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in electrical design for transmission and substation projects.
  • Strong background in HV substations, GIS, cable systems, and switchgear.
  • Previous experience leading engineering or design teams.
  • Knowledge of UAE utility standards and approvals is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer – Electrical (Primary Design) to join our team in the UAE.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in Primary Electrical Design
  • Strong knowledge of Cable Systems
  • Experience with 132 kV GIS
  • Experience in Switchgear Design
  • DEWA approval is mandatory
