Macildowie are working with this client based in Derby to recruit an experienced Payroll Advisor to join their established payroll team in the new year.

Your tasks

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong end-to-end payroll experience who is looking for a fresh challenge in 2027. You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team within a well-established business, where you'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll.

As Payroll Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day payroll function, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

Your responsibilities will include

• Processing end-to-end payroll in line with deadlines.
• Managing starters, leavers, salary amendments and statutory payments.
• Responding to payroll queries and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintaining accurate payroll records and completing reconciliations.
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements and UK payroll legislation.
• Working closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate payroll information.
• Supporting improvements to payroll processes and systems.

Requirements

We're looking for an experienced payroll professional who is confident managing end-to-end payroll and enjoys working as part of a team.

You will ideally have

• Previous experience processing end-to-end UK payroll.
• A good understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and pensions.
• Experience using payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Experience using Dayforce would be advantageous but is not essential.
