Art Consultant

We are seeking a creative and knowledgeable Art Consultant to join our interior design team, with a focus on hospitality projects. Your role shall include but not limited to: Research, source and recommend suitable artworks, artists and art pieces for hospitality or commercial projects. Develop artwork concepts and selections in accordance with the project's design concept, hotel brand identity, location, cultural context and overall aesthetic direction. Select artworks for various hospitality spaces, including hotel guestrooms, lobbies, corridors, restaurants, lounges, function rooms and public areas. Prepare artwork proposals, mood boards, presentations, artwork schedules and specifications for client and design team review. Advise on artwork style, medium, size, scale, colour palette, composition and placement to ensure harmony with the interior design. Source artworks from artists, galleries, art suppliers and other relevant channels, including identifying suitable commissioned artwork where required. Conduct research on local and international artists, art trends and culturally relevant artworks suitable for hospitality environments. Liaise with clients, hotel operators, interior designers, architects, artists, galleries, suppliers and contractors throughout the project. Conduct site visits to assess artwork locations, dimensions, viewing conditions and installation requirements. Work closely with the interior design team to ensure artwork selections are integrated seamlessly into the overall design concept. Assist with artwork budgets, cost comparisons and procurement documentation. Monitor artwork production and delivery timelines and coordinate with relevant parties to meet project schedules. Travel internationally for assigned project presentations, coordination meetings and site visits as required. Perform other art consultancy and project-related duties as required.

Job Requirements: Candidate must possess at least Diploma or Degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Art Management, Interior Design, Interior Decoration or a related discipline. At least 5 years of experience in art consultancy, art curation, hospitality design, interior design, gallery, artwork sourcing or a related creative field will be an advantage. Good knowledge and appreciation of contemporary art, artists, art styles and different artistic mediums. Understanding of how artwork can be integrated into hospitality and interior environments. Strong visual and aesthetic sense, with a good understanding of colour, composition, proportion, scale and spatial presentation. Good research and artwork sourcing skills, with the ability to identify suitable artists and artworks for different project concepts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, hotel operators, designers, artists, galleries and suppliers. Good project coordination and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple project requirements and deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office and presentation software. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or other design-related software will be an advantage. Creative, proactive, resourceful and able to work independently as well as as part of a multidisciplinary design team. Experience of dealing with international hotel operators and consultants. Willing to travel to project sites, galleries, suppliers and art-related events when required. Mandarin, oral and written skills are an added advantage (in order to liaise with Chinese speaking associates) Experience in managing China luxury hospitality or f&b projects would be an advantage.
