Our client is an internationally successful family-owned company in special machine construction and is among the technology leaders in the wire and cable industry. The position is located in the electrical engineering development department and combines modern software development with industrial applications in the environment of mechatronic systems. The role involves the development of innovative software solutions for industrial machines and plants. The focus is on modern backend technologies, user-friendly interfaces, and the integration of production and IT systems.

Software Developer Industrial Software (m/f/d)

Tasks:

• Conception and development of software solutions for mechatronic systems in the wire and cable sector as a supplement to PLC-based machine controls
• Development of backend applications with C or Python
• Development of modern user interfaces with JavaScript or WPF
• Packaging and deployment of applications using Docker or comparable container technologies
• Co-designing software distribution and maintenance on industrial PCs and Edge Devices
• Integration of communication protocols from the field level into higher-level IT systems
• Collaboration on the further development of modern software architectures in the industrial environment

Requirements:

• Completed studies in electrical engineering, computer science, technical computer science, or a comparable qualification
• Sound practical experience with at least one programming language such as C, Python, or JavaScript
• Confident handling of Microsoft Visual Studio or comparable development environments
• Experience with Docker or comparable container technologies
• Knowledge of deployment strategies for industrial PCs is an advantage
• Basic knowledge in the programming of machine software, ideally with Siemens TIA Portal, is desirable
• Structured and independent way of working as well as interest in complex technical contexts
• Very good English skills in spoken and written form
• Willingness to undertake occasional international business trips
