Job Summary

Lyza Education seeks a part-time Coding Educator to design and deliver coding lessons for students aged 10 to 17, fostering foundational skills and a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging coding and technology lessons for students aged 10 to 17 to build foundational programming skills
• Develop and update teaching materials aligned with curriculum goals to enhance student learning outcomes
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and productive classroom environment to maximize student engagement
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with students and parents to support student progress and communication
• Monitor and incorporate current trends and advancements in educational technology and coding education into lesson plans
• Collaborate effectively with team members and perform additional duties as required to support centre operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline; computer science, engineering, mathematics, or science preferred
• Demonstrated strong communication skills through effective teaching and student engagement
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience in group or individual settings is advantageous
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript (ReactJS), Java, and/or C/C++ is a plus
• Enthusiasm for teaching and willingness to learn; training will be provided for candidates without direct experience
• Availability on at least one weekend day (Sundays preferred)
