REF-053 | Platform Engineer
You will build the data platform on Google Cloud for an international organization that aggregates its data in BigQuery and runs its entire infrastructure as code.
About the client
An international organization building its data platform on Google Cloud. Data is collected in BigQuery, the infrastructure is described in Terraform, and everything that rolls out goes through GitHub Actions. The transformation layer rests on dbt.
The work is performed entirely remotely and in English. The team consists of data engineers, analysts, and data scientists working against the same platform.
About the role
You are responsible for ensuring the data platform is scalable, reliable, and secure. It is about building it, not just maintaining it. You set the structure for how data flows in, is transformed, and is made available to those who will use it.
The role is suitable for you who want to own the platform technically while simultaneously working closely with the teams that live in the data every day.
What you will do
- Design and build scalable data platforms on Google Cloud
- Describe and manage the infrastructure as code in Terraform
- Automate deployments with GitHub Actions
- Model and transform data with dbt
- Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and cost
- Ensure data protection and regulatory compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems in the data infrastructure
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to ensure data is available and maintains quality
Who we are looking for
Requirements
- Built and operated data platforms on Google Cloud in production, with BigQuery and at least one of Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, or Dataflow
- Worked with infrastructure as code in Terraform
- Built automated flows in GitHub Actions
- Modeled and transformed data with dbt
- Python or Java at a production level
- English in speech and writing

- Cloud Workflows
- Cost optimization of data pipelines
- Experience with data protection and regulatory compliance
- Experience working closely with analysts and data scientists
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent

Scope: Full-time, 100 percent
