Emergency Response Team Coordinator
The Emergency Response Team Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the daily leadership and coordination of the Emergency Response Team operating in the area, guaranteeing a high level of preparedness and response capability throughout all operations. The Emergency Response Team Coordinator supports the implementation of the site's Crisis and Emergency Response Plan and ensures the readiness of the Emergency Response Team through training, drills, skill development, equipment readiness, and periodic inspections.
The Emergency Response Team Coordinator contributes to maintaining response capabilities in high-risk situations, including confined space rescue operations, technical rope rescue, firefighting, victim extraction from vehicles, and response related to hazardous materials. By working closely with the Emergency Response Team Leader, local teams, and external emergency services, this role ensures that emergency procedures are correctly understood and applied during both drills and real-life situations, while simultaneously supporting incident response, post-incident analysis, and the continuous improvement of the site's emergency response systems.
- Support the implementation of the site's Crisis and Emergency Response Plan.
- Coordinate the daily readiness, duty rosters, and deployment of the Emergency Response Team.
- Respond to emergencies and support incident management, communication, and coordination by collaborating with local teams and external emergency services.
- Ensure that emergency response procedures are understandable, maintained, and applied consistently by the Emergency Response Team.
- Organize training, drills, simulations, and on-the-job training to develop the team's capabilities and confidence.
- Assess team skills and provide feedback for the purpose of continuous development and increasing efficiency.
- Monitor the readiness and performance of the Emergency Response Team, including response times, skill levels, and overall operational efficiency.
- Conduct periodic inspections and readiness assessments of personnel, equipment, vehicles, and emergency response infrastructure.
- Support the planning and execution of emergency drills, contributing to the identification and implementation of improvement actions.
- Participate in incident reviews, report preparation, and follow-up actions to improve emergency response systems and efficiency.
- Ensure the readiness of emergency equipment, vehicles, and response tools through inspections, testing, maintenance, and inventory management.
- Report equipment failures and coordinate their repair, replacement, and replenishment of supplies.
- Promote a high culture of safety, clear communication, teamwork, and professional conduct within the Emergency Response Team.
- Relevant education in safety, emergency response, firefighting, or related fields, with recognized official emergency response or rescue certification.
- 5-8 years of work experience in mining, heavy industry, or other high-risk sectors.
- Strong practical experience in emergency response, rescue operations, firefighting, and participation in an Emergency Response Team.
- Good knowledge of emergency procedures, incident management, rescue methods, firefighting systems, and site safety requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination, leadership, training, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to act effectively in emergencies and maintain a high level of safety.
- Experience in training or instruction is desirable.
- Good proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate during training, incidents, and reporting.
