*The Opportunity*

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant, Part-Time, to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational accounting skills while supporting the financial operations of our organization. The successful candidate will assist with various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial processes. This position is ideal for individuals seeking flexible working hours and eager to gain practical experience in a professional setting. *The role will be based on site in our Mississauga office and we require flexibility to work 20 hours/week within the 9am-5pm work hours.*

*What You'll Do*

• Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and maintaining accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
• Support accounts payable functions by verifying and processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments and proper account coding.
• Help manage accounts receivable activities by invoicing clients, tracking payments, and reconciling customer accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and company records.
• Contribute to account analysis and account reconciliation processes to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
• Support payroll processing activities in compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
• Aid in preparing financial reports, budgets, and assisting with auditing preparations to ensure transparency and accuracy.

*What You Bring*

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to effectively communicate financial information clearly and professionally.
• Prior exposure to corporate finance or financial services is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems or processes.
• A minimum of a high school diploma; relevant coursework or certifications in accounting are a plus.
