Description of the workplace
Translational Oncology is seeking a master's level project assistant with experience in breast cancer research and bioinformatics skills to work on research projects in the field. The position is located at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund, the Department of Oncology, situated at Medicon Village. The working environment is international and interdisciplinary, focusing on cancer biology, genetics, genomics, oncology, and bioinformatics. The group consists of researchers, PhD students, and bioinformaticians, and you will work in close collaboration with experienced colleagues in a research environment.

Tasks and responsibilities
The position is full-time and the work is performed mainly on-site, with supervision meetings every one to two weeks for guidance and support. The tasks include: conducting cancer research and bioinformatics analyses, sample handling, data analysis, compilation of results, literature reviews, preparation of figures, as well as scientific writing.
Other tasks may be added within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
Requirements for the employment are:
- Master's degree in molecular biology or a related field
- Very good knowledge of English - both oral and written
- Experience in breast cancer research and blood plasma treatment
- Experience in bioinformatics analysis of clinical and genomic data
- Experience specifically with Rstudio and software packages such as ggplot2, survival, and GenVisR
Merit:
- Knowledge of scientific writing and citation management with Endnote
- Knowledge of figure generation with Biorender
- Knowledge in coding and result organization with Quarto

The employment is a SÄVA (special fixed-term employment) at 100% during the period 2026.11.01 - 2027.03.31.
