Institution Faculty of Physics - Braun working group Remuneration TV-L E9b Scope Part-time (50%) Start date At the earliest possible date (The position is fixed-term until 31.12.2032)

This is us:

The Faculty of Physics is looking for a technical assistant for the subproject "Molecular Origins" in the Excellence Cluster "Origins of Life" in the Braun working group. The Excellence Cluster "Origins" is an interdisciplinary network that links the disciplines of particle physics, astrophysics, and research into the origins of life. The service laboratory (IDSL) provides modern techniques for molecular analysis, high-throughput sequencing, and microfluidic experiments for research work. The laboratory is equipped with a new high-resolution ion exchange ESI-Orbitrap mass spectrometry and several HPLC-ESI-TOF mass spectrometers and provides microfluidic platforms with optical precision experiments. Furthermore, Laser UV sources as well as preparation for external sequencing at the LMU Gene Center are also supported. It provides doctoral students in the participating laboratories access to techniques that are very difficult for the working groups to establish on their own and serves as a crystallization point for experiments between different groups. The laboratory is managed and integrated by the System Biophysics working group of Prof. Braun. This group is also the starting point of Transregio 392 "Molekülare evolution in präbiotischen Bedingungen". The Excellence Cluster Origins is funded by the DFG until December 31, 2032.

Are you open-minded towards scientists and want to support one of the best-equipped interdisciplinary centers for Origin of Life research in the world? Then apply and become part of a multidisciplinary team that investigates with experiments how life emerged on the early Earth!

We are looking for you:
