Interested in community engagement and making a positive difference? Join us as an SGCares Volunteer Centre Intern

Are you curious about the social service sector and interested in bringing people together for a good cause? We are looking for a motivated and proactive intern to join our team and support volunteer engagement, community outreach, and programme coordination.

In this role, you will gain first-hand experience in how a Volunteer Centre operates, work alongside community partners, and contribute to initiatives that encourage more people to get involved in volunteering. Whether you are exploring a future career in the social service sector or looking to develop practical workplace skills, this is an opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow.

What You’ll Own & Do:

  • Community Cultivation & Engagement: Build authentic relationships with volunteers and community partners across digital and physical engagement platforms.
  • Volunteer Experience Design & Execution: Help research, design and execute creative outreach strategies to bring fresh energy into our volunteer pool. Manage onboarding, field inquiries, and turn feedback into actionable improvements for a memorable volunteer journey.
  • Impact & Data Tracking: Support the management and delivery of SG Cares programme funded initiatives, learning how to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure real-world community impact.
  • Recognition & Culture: Co-create fun appreciation and engagement activities that keep our volunteer community motivated, valued, and connected.
  • Operations & Quality Control: Gain behind-the-scenes exposure to operational risk management, compliance, and quality assurance, ensuring our programs run smoothly and ethically.

What You Can Look Forward To:

  • Meaningful, Hands-On Experience: Get involved in real community initiatives and see how volunteer engagement and programme coordination work in practice.
  • Learning and Development: Build practical skills in communication, event coordination, project support, stakeholder engagement, and basic data management.
  • Guidance and Mentorship: Work alongside an experienced team and learn from colleagues and community partners in the social service sector.
  • A Chance to Contribute: Share your ideas, support local community initiatives, and play a part in creating positive volunteering experiences.
  • Explore a Career in the Social Service Sector: Gain a better understanding of the sector and discover how your interests and strengths could contribute to community development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current undergraduate, recent graduate, or someone exploring a career in the social service sector.
  • An interest in community engagement, volunteering, or social impact.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to interact with people from different backgrounds.
  • Organized, proactive and resourceful, with the ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A digital-native mindset who can easily navigate engagement platforms and modern communication tools.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with people, and wants to understand how small, consistent efforts can make a difference in the community.
