Job Description
- Perform welding and fabrication work according to drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Carry out MIG, TIG, ARC or other appropriate welding processes as required.
- Cut, fit, align and weld metal components and structures.
- Read and interpret basic technical drawings and welding specifications.
- Inspect completed welds and ensure work meets required quality and safety standards.
- Operate welding machines, cutting equipment and other workshop tools safely.
- Perform grinding, finishing and basic metal fabrication work.
- Conduct routine maintenance and housekeeping of welding equipment and work areas.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other welding and fabrication duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Relevant welding/fabrication experience or technical qualification preferred.
- Able to perform welding and basic metal fabrication work.
- Able to read and understand basic technical drawings is an advantage.
- Able to use welding machines, hand tools and workshop equipment safely.
- Physically fit and able to work in a workshop/industrial environment.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
- Good attitude, responsible and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant welding certificates or qualifications will be an advantage.
