Event CAD Technician
Remote working: with occasional on site visits
International football tournaments, global brand activations, fan zones and guest experiences at the sport's biggest stages. And technical drawings that sit at the centre of all of it. An Event CAD Technician role where the project portfolio builds a career, and the scale is the kind most CAD careers never reach.
- International project portfolio spanning sport, entertainment and brand experience
- Flexible, distributed working model with genuine autonomy over how you work
- Collaborative team across the UK, Ireland and Canada
- Quarterly in-person team gatherings to connect and develop ideas
- Real opportunity to grow as the business and its project scale expand
The Company
This is a global experience agency with more than 27 years behind it, trusted by governments, major sporting bodies and some of the most recognised brands in the world to deliver experience strategy, creative and complex production at scale. The team is internationally distributed across the UK, Ireland and Canada, and the culture is genuinely collaborative: ideas are welcomed from anywhere, work is critiqued with the aim of finding solutions, and people are given the space to work in ways that suit them.
The Role
The Event CAD Technician sits at the point where creative vision becomes a buildable reality, translating 3D spatial concepts into precise technical drawings used by designers, production teams and fabricators on international projects.
- Produce accurate 2D floorplans, elevations, sections and seating layouts in Vectorworks
- Translate 3D visual concepts into detailed construction drawings covering set fabrication and framing
- Account for lighting, broadcast and technical equipment requirements within spatial layouts
- Ensure drawings meet venue specifications, health and safety regulations and client standards
- Collaborate with design directors, production managers and external fabricators through to build
- Adapt and problem-solve technical layout challenges during live site setups
The Candidate
The right person for this Event CAD Technician role has advanced Vectorworks proficiency across both 2D drafting and 3D modelling, with a strong focus on floorplan production: much of the day-to-day work centres on precise, detailed floor plans, so comfort and speed at that task is essential. You will also be experienced in producing technical drawings for built environments where precision is non-negotiable, and confident coordinating with creative and production colleagues to see a design through from concept to on-site reality.
A background in live events is the natural fit, though strong transferable experience from theatre, film and TV set design, spatial design or retail design is equally welcome. What matters most is rigour in the work and a genuine interest in solving technical problems at scale. If the role of Event CAD Technician sounds like the right next move, we want to hear from you.
In return, you get an internationally distributed team, high-profile projects that genuinely build a career, and a working model grounded in trust. This Event CAD Technician vacancy is attracting strong interest and interviews are being arranged now, so submit your application and make sure you are in the conversation.
