Associate/Assistant Manager, Japanese Equities

Job Purpose:

The Analyst will provide investment research and administrative support to the Japan Equites team.

Responsibilities:

• Cover multiple sectors for the Japanmarket.
• Perform stock and sector analysis, make recommendations for the Japan equities portfolios.
• Develop a thorough understanding of company’s business.
• Build and maintain financial and valuation models for companies covered, with varying degrees of granularity.
• Value the company’s securities based on a sound and thorough understanding of its business, competitive position and growth prospects.
• Monitor the company’s progress, stock performance and update relevant parties of key developments.

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant degree, preferably with 1-5 years of experience in advisory, research or investment management role within banking, brokerage, asset management or fund house working environment.
• Exposure to the Japan market as part of a specialist, international orglobal team
• Experience covering Japan or global tech sectors is highly desirable,but not essential
• Solid financial analysis, modeling skills and understanding of differentvaluation techniques
• Strong ability to construct and articulate concise investment theses and pitch recommendations with conviction to senior investors.
• Self-starter, independent thinker and a resilient individual
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
