Materials Planner

Job responsibilities

Manage purchase requisition, follow up on purchase order and order acknowledgement from suppliers

Review of monthly actual consumption and compare with forecast

Establish min and max level of raw materials inventory and timely replenish inventory

Liaise with suppliers to ensure safety stock is maintained by suppliers to ensure continuity in material supply

Trigger delivery of material under consignment programme, maintain consumption record and validate supplier invoice

Process inter-company orders

Provide material forecast based on S&OP production plan to suppliers and raise purchase requisition

Facilitation transition of end of life material to new material ramp up

Prepare monthly reports

Monitor stock of chemicals and compliant to hazardous material regulations

Track inbound and outbound freight costs and validate freight invoices

Facilitate logistics and freight related matters

Any other task or project as assigned by Supervisor

Job requirements

Bachelor Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Business Management / Engineering or equivalent

APICS CPIM certified will be advantageous

Minimum 5 years of experience preferably in similar role in manufacturing plant environment

Experience in production or material planning, preferably in similar role

Planning production using MRP system (QAD, SAP or similar)

Advanced level in Microsoft Excel application

Lean methodology and tools in logistics

Good communications and interpersonal skills
