Guidewire Policy Center Developer

About the role We are looking for an experienced Guidewire developer to join an international technology team responsible for the development and continuous improvement of a core business platform used across several European markets. The role combines hands-on development with close cooperation with business and delivery teams. You will work on extending the platform, translating functional requirements into technical solutions, improving existing functionality and ensuring that delivered changes meet high standards of quality and maintainability. You will join a distributed Scrum environment and work together with developers, testers, business analysts, product owners and delivery specialists. Daily tasks

• Develop and configure new functionality within Guidewire PolicyCenter, with particular focus on product setup, rating and related business processes.
• Design and implement integrations using REST APIs and support data exchange with other applications.
• Analyse existing functionality and improve the platform with a focus on clean architecture, maintainability and code quality.
• Troubleshoot production and development issues, resolve defects and contribute to reducing technical debt.
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions in cooperation with Business Analysts and Product Owners.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to solution design and development standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Use Azure DevOps to support development workflows, source control and delivery processes.
• Work closely with distributed teams and stakeholders located across different European locations.
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, including planning, daily meetings, refinement and retrospectives.
• Support continuous improvement of development practices and contribute ideas for improving the platform and delivery process.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter. Practical knowledge of product configuration and rating functionality. Good understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and common design patterns. Strong focus on clean, maintainable and high-quality code. Good understanding of REST APIs from both consumer and provider perspectives. Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts. Previous experience working as a developer within Scrum or another Agile delivery environment. Ability to analyse problems, identify root causes and independently drive issues towards resolution. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Fluent English. Ability to work effectively in an international and distributed team. Willingness to learn new technologies and expand knowledge of the platform. Nice to have Experience with other Guidewire products or modules. Experience in consulting, software delivery or technology organisations. Experience with complex enterprise platforms and business-critical applications. Previous experience working with international development teams. Knowledge of additional integration technologies or enterprise application environments.
