Responsibilities
- Manage shipbroking activities for chemical and vegetable oil tankers.
- Source suitable vessels and cargo opportunities for clients.
- Negotiate and conclude spot fixtures, time charters and other chartering business.
- Monitor freight markets, vessel positions and cargo movements to identify opportunities.
- Develop new business and maintain strong relationships with charterers and shipowners.
- Provide clients with market updates and commercially relevant advice.
- Manage fixtures and resolve commercial or operational issues when required.
- Achieve individual revenue and business development targets as part of the role’s key performance objectives.
Requirements
- Degree in Maritime, Shipping, Business or related discipline.
- 3–10 years' experience in tanker chartering or shipbroking, preferably in chemicals and/or vegetable oils.
- Good understanding of tanker chartering and freight markets.
- Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially driven with a proactive approach to developing business.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Comfortable attending client entertainment and networking engagements outside regular working hours when required.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking shipowners and charterers.
