Responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on, proactive and experienced Senior Applications & Systems Engineer with practical experience in developing web services and API integrations, SQL, cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, automation and scripting, and application troubleshooting.

In this role, you will develop and maintain integrations between systems, assess data flows and downstream impacts, troubleshoot application and network connectivity issues, and implement system changes and enhancements. You will work closely with end-users, internal IT teams and external vendors to deliver technical solutions, ensure reliable application operations, and support business continuity and disaster recovery activities.

You will cover the following:

  • Provide day-to-day operational and production support for application systems and ensure systems remain available and in good working order.
  • Troubleshoot application, system integration, network connectivity and production issues, and follow through on incidents to resolution.
  • Perform routine system checks, identify anomalies and coordinate resolution with system engineers, DBAs, application teams and external vendors.
  • Manage and track incidents, service requests and change requests in accordance with established IT processes and ITIL practices.
  • Perform root cause analysis and proactively identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Support web services and API integrations, cloud environments and data flows between integrated systems.
  • Use SQL, log analysis tools and scripting to support troubleshooting, data extraction and operational activities.
  • Support system changes, enhancements, upgrades, testing and implementation activities.
  • Work with end-users to gather requirements, address enquiries, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and facilitate user training where required.
  • Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, procedures and best practices.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities.
  • Assist the Project Manager in tracking assigned project activities, timelines and resources.
  • Provide standby support when required for scheduled maintenance, system upgrades or production incidents.
  • Undertake and support such other assignments, projects, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, in accordance with the Company.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or an equivalent qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience supporting IT application systems, including operational/production support and exposure to the end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction and incident troubleshooting.
  • Experience with monitoring, log analysis or analytical tools such as Splunk, Power BI and Qlik Sense.
  • Experience supporting web services and API integrations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with automation or scripting using PowerShell, Python or Shell scripting.
  • Good understanding of system integrations, downstream impact and data flows across applications.
  • Experience with incident management, change management and standard IT operations practices, including the ITIL Framework.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues systematically, conduct root cause analysis and work effectively with multiple technical teams and vendors.
  • Relevant IT project support experience in Singapore.
  • Good command of English with strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging end-users, helpdesk teams, technical teams and external vendors.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within application development and system support teams.
