Senior Tax Accountant - FTC

A leading international business is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join its in-house tax function on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with prior experience within the recruitment, staffing, or workforce solutions sector to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment.
Your tasks
Reporting into the Head of Tax, you will play a key role in supporting UK tax compliance, risk management, and labour supply chain governance. The position will involve working closely with finance, compliance, legal, procurement, and operational teams to ensure robust tax controls and regulatory compliance are maintained across the business.
- Review and assess consultancy suppliers and supporting due diligence documentation.
- Evaluate labour supply chain structures and identify employment tax and compliance risks.
- Advise on areas including PAYE, NIC, IR35, umbrella companies, and subcontracting arrangements.
- Support ongoing supplier monitoring and risk assessment processes.
- Maintain assurance records and remediation tracking.
- Help develop tax compliance procedures, controls, and documentation.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to drive best practice and manage risk.
Requirements
Key Skills & Experience
- CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT, or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working within an in-house tax team of a recruitment business is essential.
- Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax compliance and tax accounting.
- Good understanding of UK GAAP (FRS102).
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Able to build relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities
Previous experience working within an in-house tax team of a recruitment, staffing, or workforce solutions business is essential. Unfortunately, applicants without this specific industry background will not be considered.
What we offer
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000
