LGS Vision are delighted to be working with a modern, well-established firm of accountants who are currently seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant.

The firm of Accountants are situated in Basildon. They offer a full range of accounting services to their clients, who include sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full management of portfolio of assigned work tasks.
• Building strong client relationships within the portfolio.
• Preparation of compliance work and management information.
• Management of client support work and deadlines.
• Mentorship of direct reports, overseeing work and training.
• Assisting with client engagement and disengagement process.
• Training meetings with client on digital bookkeeping software.
• Reporting to Manager with updates in relation to your portfolio of work.

Compliance Services:

• Control account reconciliations and preparing a reconciled trial balance.
• Preparation of end of year statutory accounts and tax computations.
• Preparation and review of sole trader accounts and personal tax returns.
• Review profit extraction and tax-saving strategies for clients.
• Preparation and sending dividend vouchers to clients.
• Assist in completing the management reports.
• Assist in pre- and post-year-end meetings with clients.
• Build and maintain client relationships through meetings, calls, and emails, answering any questions about their accounts and taxes.

Bookkeeping Services:

• Complete and review client bookkeeping, including CIS and VAT Returns, ensuring compliance with current HMRC rules.
• Reconciliation of main control accounts.
• Dealing with client queries who undertake their own bookkeeping.
• Manage bookkeeping deadlines for yourself and ensure all bookkeeping deadlines are met for the team.
• Providing training to client on digital bookkeeping software.
• Completing digital migration of client data to online bookkeeping software.
