International Retail General Accountant (M/F)

Our client is a fast-growing group operating in the retail sector, with activities including a network of boutiques and logistics activities. In a context of structuring and development, the company is strengthening its Finance team and is looking for a General Accountant M/F on a permanent contract (CDI) to support the accounting management of several entities. You will work in an international, multicultural, and transforming environment, in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

The position:

Reporting to the Subsidiary Accounting and Group Reporting Manager, you will autonomously take charge of the general and accounts payable accounting for the subsidiaries entrusted to you. Your main missions will be as follows:

• General Accounting:

_ Maintaining and justifying subsidiary accounts; _ Recording routine entries: provisions, prepaid expenses, accruals (FAE/FNP); _ Managing fixed assets, depreciation, and disposals; _ Performing bank reconciliations and recording foreign currency transactions; _ Performing account matching and justification of general ledger accounts; _ Ensuring the monitoring of intercompany operations, monthly reconciliations, and circularization; _ Preparing VAT declarations, DES, and other reporting obligations; _ Monitoring local accounting and tax developments.

• Accounts Payable:

_ Receiving and checking invoices: compliance, analytical coding, commitments; _ Ensuring the monitoring of the approval workflow; _ Managing invoices related to retail activities: rent, charges, services, merchandising, etc.; _ Monitoring strategic suppliers and managing potential disputes; _ Participating in payment runs, particularly in multi-currency; _ Monitoring payment schedules and internal reminders; _ Analyzing and justifying accounts payable and advances.

• Closings and Reporting:

_ Participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual closings; _ Preparing reporting according to Group needs; _ Respecting closing calendars and deadlines; _ Performing consistency checks on financial data; _ Liaising with accounting firms and local auditors; _ Formalizing and documenting accounting procedures and processes; You will work in close collaboration with accounting teams, country managers, HR, IT, management control, treasury, tax, and legal departments, as well as various external stakeholders.

Profile sought:

With higher education in accounting, you have 5 to 10 years of experience in general accounting, ideally acquired in the retail sector. You have significant experience in the accounting management of environments including boutiques, logistics activities, or warehouses, and are capable of working with total autonomy. You are proficient in SAP, ideally SAP Fiori, and your level of English is professional. Experience in a structuring environment or a start-up type environment would be appreciated.
