Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Job Description Our Client is currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role will support Senior Quantity Surveyors on a range of projects, initially contributing to a link road scheme. Role Overview As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of construction projects. You will assist with cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting while gaining valuable on-site and project experience. Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support to Senior Quantity Surveyors Assist in preparing: o Contracts and project documentation o Budgets and cost plans o Bills of quantities Undertake on-site measurements and measurement from drawings Support cost monitoring, reporting, and financial control Assist in identifying project risks and proposing mitigation strategies Carry out feasibility studies for client requests Assist in the preparation of project estimates and tender submissions Analyse subcontractor quotations and support procurement processes Assist in managing variations and agreeing final accounts Prepare and issue payment certificates to subcontractors Support the resolution of commercial disputes with appropriate documentation About You Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with: Strong organizational skills and commercial awareness Excellent communication and negotiation abilities A proactive approach to problem-solving Confidence working with a variety of stakeholders in a live construction environment Strong numerical and analytical skills Previous experience with a main contractor in a civil engineering environment (desirable) Working knowledge of NEC contracts (advantageous)
